The Golden Moments

Do you remember the day you left
home for learning purpose?
I'm sure that you do. But I'll bet that what you remember even more clearly, were the days in the week before you left. You know...the days you spent getting addresses and phone numbers and trying to figure out how to say good bye to everyone.

Getting prepared for college and hostel life and preparing for new way n
new  outlook of life.

You get to a new place full of strangers. You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes, you come across some extraordinarily special people. They have tears to shed too. They left people behind. They're in love with that guy or girl back where they used to live, and they all want someone to talk to.

College n hostel is just about learning how to listen, how to speak n shout, how to
think and presenting mature expression when understands nothing.. Learning who you are, who your friends are, and the type of people you want as friends.

Learning how to trust your innermost feelings, and how to find those feelings in the first place. It's about learning what's really important to you, and learning what you really don't give a damn about.

Lifetime in hostel n college  is about learning how to tolerate, how to accept, how to like and how to
love n co-exists. Learning how to give as well as you receive, and how to trust that everything will work itself out on it's own (you buy a
Samosas, Wada paws n cold-drinks one night, your roommate will the next night).

It's about learning that your mom, dad n big brother actually do have the right answers
sometimes. College n hostel is about learning how to treat, tolerate, care n
entertain people as people and
not as stereotypes.

Learning that a kiss isn't just a kiss, that sometimes it means more, and that sometimes it means less. Learning how to achieve, how to succeed, how to accomplish.

Sometimes you stay together. Other times you break up. Sometimes you think you've done the wrong thing by coming so far away from home. And sometimes when you start thinking like this, it's time to make a change. So when this happens, you sit down, put 'Sonu nigam' n'brain adams' in the stereo and wonder if you still recall all the faces from your past. If you do, you're doing well.

It's about learning
how to not come in first place
and still be proud, and about coming in last and learning how to admit that you could have done better.

Hostel n College
time is about learning that loud parties don't necessarily mean a good time. Learning that loneliness doesn't go away in a crowd, and that sometimes it's okay to be by yourself on a
Saturday or Sunday night.

It's about learning that your lunchtime crowd doesn't constitute your popularity, and that popularity is all a matter of perspective. It's about learning that boredom is simply laziness of the mind, and that watching
senseless movies is not quality relaxation time.

College is about learning how to pack a bag, and how to pack a room full of way too much
stuff. It is about finishing roommate's Tiffin / food or sweet before he tastes
it and still enjoys like he ate it all and it feels same when they did same with
me. Hostel is place where I understood many meanings of "TIT FOR TAT"
in very less time.

It is about Learning that
friends like you a whole lot more than they'll ever tell you and that it's your responsibility to make sure your friends know how much you appreciate them.

It's about finding faults even if everything is right n fine. It's about learning that doing simply what you're supposed to do isn't enough. You need to put forth twice that much in order to fully grasp whatever it is that's sitting in front of you. It's about learning how to make people smile.

College n hostel is about learning how to love
friends enough not to stick them in the past, and how to not miss them so much that it keeps you from moving into the future. Learning how to motivate yourself
while feeling blue or down and how to motivate others.

Hostel n college is about learning 24x7 different ways of living with mischief,
fun, cooperation by knowing ethical n unethical limits and responsibilities.

College is about learning, learning how to live and hostel is about learning how
to care n co-existing along with fighting.

I do remember the loving
panic when boys packed the bags n ready to leave the hostel and everyone was
emotional while filling the slam-books.

I also
learnt n experienced while leaving hostel n college that -
"BOYS
DON'T CRY" is a false statement.

Did you
remember the same? I realize n rather sense all above whenever I remember.
